| Name: | Yeshua-bar-Yoseph |

| Birthdate: | 05-01 |
My name is Yeshua-bar-Yoseph, aka Joshua-bar-Joseph, aka Jesus H. Christ (The H stands for "hallowed"). I'm also known as: Emmanuel, Jehovah, Christ, the Messenger, the Angel, the Prophet, the King, the Shepherd, the Word, the Word Made Flesh, and the Lamb.
My friends call me Josh.

Little is known of Christ's early years. To correct this, Levi-bar-Alpheus (known as Biff because of the sound made each time his mother smacked him upside his head) was brought back from dust by the angel Raziel. Held prisoner in the Hyatt in St. Louis, Biff was ordered to start writing.
Biff wrote about all those years missing in the New Testament, so that people could come to know Joshua of Nazareth through his eyes, from the time they first met by the town's well when both were six, as Josh sat there with a lizard in his mouth, just its tail sticking out.
They, of course, became fast friends, and loved one another as much as two straight Jewish boys could.
When the two were young, they befriended Mary of Magdala-—betrothed at 10 and married by 12 as arranged by her parents-—the little red-haired girl that had moved into their neighborhood who was first their pal, and then became much more to both.
But from the start something else was calling Josh. Something he was aware of but didn't understand. Ultimately his question became: What exactly was the Messiah expected to do?
Joshua searched for those he believed held that answer: the three wise men who journeyed to the stable in Bethlehem where he was born. And Biff, his bestest friend, of course, went with him.
Together they traveled through the Middle and Far East encountering and learning from Hinduism, Buddhism, yogis, Chinese concubines, ninjas, and a yeti until Josh's understanding, while not quite there yet, was more complete. Although the two were still close, by the time they finally returned home, the distance between them had slowly grown.
Josh's teachings drew a constantly increasing following. Among them were several eccentric Apostles--one of them by the name of Judas Iscariot.
Most know how Josh's story ended. Josh knew long before and accepted it.
Biff, his best friend in the world, couldn't, however, but despite that, Josh had to do what he had to do.
2000 years later, Josh had the angels bring Maggie and Biff back to life, to write more accurate gospels than the ones out there, and also so that the two could be happy together without him getting in the way (since Maggie loved him best). Biff's recent incarceration in the Post-Apocalyptic World in Apharsites is...an unfortunate setback. But Josh isn't going to let it get in the way of Biff's happiness. Not if he can help it.
Biff spent his whole life faithless and living for others. Now Josh intends to teach him to have faith and live for himself.
And keep him alive long enough to hopefully get home.
*****
Josh is a short man of Middle Eastern descent with long, curly, dark hair, and tan skin. He looks like a very friendly fellow, and other than the aura of holiness there really isn't anything particularly special about him to the normal human eye.
His powers in Apharsites are limited by the number of believers around him, because the world there is...not exactly under his father's jurisdiction. He'll have some measure of his own healing abilities, but will, for the most part, be unable to raise the dead (he always did have trouble with it). He can turn small amounts of water to wine, but it's taxing, and useless if you just need water as he can't seem to get anything other than wine; and he can multiply small amounts of food, but only to a point. Again, it tired him out, and eventually it drains him.
One thing that remains consistent is that if he ever dies in the game, he can be resurrected three days later if he wishes.
Also, since Biff is one of his biggest believers, his powers are usually a the highest level they can be around him. When they're apart, Josh's powers are weak.
Josh is not in the world of Apharsites to save the day, but to just try to help everyone there survive as best as he can--Biff, especially--and just be a friend to those who need one.

Josh is from The Bible, but this specific portrayal of him is from the book Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, and is the property of Christopher Moore. He appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in
apharsites, from which no profit whatsoever is being made.
This character is just that: a character. I am not portraying the historical/religious version of Jesus, but a fictional character created by Christopher Moore that was based on him. I mean no offense to anyone, and hope to explore my own faith, be a bit irreverent, and above all, to have a little fun while playing this character.
